This article explores the creative and customized world of fonts and typography and in particular, a typeface called Trilochan-Normal which is an OpenType font with multilingual support. There are thousands of fonts out there, but not all are created equal when it comes to design or usefulness. For instance, there's Arial — the default font in many applications such as Microsoft Word — but it's also pretty boring. One font that is definitely worth exploring is Trilochan-Normal or "Trilo." It was designed by one of the most creative typographers today: Vincent Connare who was inspired by Celtic knot work. The typeface is a beautiful cross between calligraphy and geometry. In the letter lettering world, it's considered very daring to create fonts that contain other languages; usually people go for Latin, Greek, Arabic or Cyrillic. The reason for this is that these other languages are already well-known and pretty much standardized. Nearly everyone has heard of them already. When you use another script like Chinese or Japanese though, you need to make sure your typeface will be able to work with the local browser software because the transliteration capabilities will often not translate well (if at all) into these other scripts. Trilochan-Normal supports a wide range of languages including: Arabic, Armenian, Belarusian, Bengali, Cyrillic, Devanāgarī, Georgian, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Hebrew, Kannada, Kinyarwanda Syloti Nagri Hebrew , Hindi-Urdu (Devanagari and Latin), Javanese (Latin), Khmer (Latin), Lao (Latin), Malayalam (DVAR - Type In Version 2.1 or later), Marathi (DEVANAGARI - Type In Version 2.1 or later), Myanmar/Burmese/Myanmmar (Latin and Burmese Scripts - Type In Version 2. 1 or later), Nepali (Devanagari and Latin), Oriya (sanskrit) (Devanagari and Latin), Pashto (Latin and Persian Scripts Version 2.1 or later), Tamil (Latin and Tamil Scripts - Type In Version 2.1 or later), Telugu (LATIN - Type In Version 2.1 or later), Tibetan (Type In version 2.0) Trilochan-Normal also comes in two formats: OpenType and TrueType. The font is free for personal use, but the OpenType format is protected by a commercial license.
